Critters on parade...
Hi, hello! It's my turn today on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog and I'm sharing this critter parade card! (I'm also posting it on Instagram for day 5 of #thedailymarker30day coloring challenge.)
I have to be honest. This card had other ideas and wouldn't cooperate with mine. You can see from the mess below that we had a good little spat before I abandoned the attempt to stack them up while masking both tops and bottoms of each shape, and ended up just stamping, coloring and cutting them out!
I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to color the critters, stamped from the Right at Home stamp sets called Deerest Friend and Friendly Fox (both available and on sale at Butterfly Reflections).
For the background, I cut a panel with the Die-Namics Stitched Rectangle die, then sectioned it into sky, and two layers of hills, using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowdrifts die and then blended color onto each section with Ranger Distress Inks. I used a fairly heavy hand in the blending to coordinate with the colored critters and I find the effect quite vivid and interesting!
To complete the card, I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from the Deerest Friends set, trimmed it into a banner shape, and wrapped the end with some thin jewelry making jute, before adding some Copper Penny Nuvo Drops dots.
Thanks for stopping by today. Have a wonderful weekend!
So adorable! What kind of paper did you use with your Zigs?
ReplyDeleteThanks Patricia! I used Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock - it's my favorite option for Zigs because it lets the pigment move and blend before it gets absorbed in.
