Congratulations cards...

I have 12 kids to send grad cards to this spring!  Twelve!  So obviously I needed a way to streamline to process of making them!  Coincidentally enough I have recently had a birthday and received a MISTI tool!  This was the perfect reason to try it out.
I flipped through my stamp collection looking for anything graduation related...scrolls, mortar board caps, gowns, pandas in caps and can I have all these stamps and not one of them has a graduating panda in them??!  Instead, I decided to use ALL of the congratulatory sentiments (of those there are no shortage) on one card.
This is where the MISTI came in handy.  Being able to fit all the variety of stamps into the required space and then move them around, but keep them secure at the same time and then to be able to stamp them multiple times made the job so much easier!  I stamped with clear Versamark ink, then heat embossed with white, and then used a dauber to rub white ink on to create that messy chalkboard look.  After that I felt like a small scattering of red hearts was all that was needed to complete the card.

Thanks for stopping by today to see what's new!

Play together....stay together....

We've reached the stage, Mr B and I have, where there is a lot more "playing" than there used to be.  Back when it was all work, cook, plan, go, teach, help, and work.  Not that those weren't good times too, but now is even better.  This layout (posted back in January at Love is in the Details) captures one of those good times, the two of us, on the hill, playing in the snow.

For this layout, I used some laser cut chipboard snowflakes from Bo Bunny, and stenciled and heat embossed the polka-dotted background with a Donna Downey stencil from Prima.  I also layered some Recollections silver glitter snowflakes, a paper doily (because it reminds me of a snowflake) some Carta Bella snowflake washi tape, and some random Teresa Collins die cut stickers.
Then I tied it all together with more silver heat embossing for the stamped title.  Old Technique Tuesday stamps for the bigger letters and a Stampin' Up roller alphabet stamp for the small letters.
Finally, I finished up with some Dewdrops from The Robin's Nest.
Thanks for coming by again today!

Homes of their own...

I'm sharing another layout today that uses the Crate Paper - Wonder line.  I posted it awhile back on the Love is in the Details site, if you're thinking it looks awfully familiar.

In the last few years our house has emptied right out, and if I think about it too long I could get melancholy, but to be honest, there are a few positives.  Top of the list is a bunch of guest rooms waiting for guests!  Recently a bunch of the boys (sons and nephews) came home for a week of golf and we were reminded of what those positives were again!

One good thing though, is to see them all settled in their various places.  Three have bought their first homes, and those houses are ALL SO CUTE!!  The other loves his life where he is and has no interest in leaving there.  These are things to be celebrated after providing food, clothing and shelter for so many years.  Among other things like pizza, wheels and education.  NBD.

So obviously the Wonder line was perfect for these photos and theme.  I fussy cut the row of houses at the top from one of the papers in this line.

I also used a bunch of old Elle's Studio tags and journal cards from my considerable stash.
Another positive about the chicks all having their own nests they are all located in states or provinces that get snow.  So you KNOW where they like to come visit!  Win/win!

Thanks for stopping by again today!

New House Love...

So apparently I took a sabbatical from blogging for the last 6 months!  The result of which is not any increased wisdom or knowledge, nor an altered world view from traveling and observing civilizations.  Isn't that what sabbaticals are traditionally for?  No, I'm just at a point where I now have a LOT of stuff to catch you up on!!
Lets start today with this layout I created for Love is in the Details, about my daughter's purchase of her 1st home last year!  I used a lot of the Crate Paper - Wonder line - LOVE that line, all houses and birdies, and pretty papers and chipboard alphas!

I printed the photos in small squares with my Canon Selphy, and sewed them onto my page.  I sewed through the naked chipboard alphabets as well - much more easily than you'd imagine!

I finished up with some fun little puffy triangle stickers and gold sequins, also from the Wonder line by Crate Paper.

Thanks for checking back with me today!  And watch for more catch-up posted here shortly!
