Mini challenge time!

I totally love these mini challenges at ScrapFIT! It always feels so good to "use up" a bit more of the mess that's left after completing a layout!

This time the challenge was to make a bookmark. Anyone who knows me, knows I love to read. And anyone who loves to read needs another bookmark!

I used the some of the scraps left from the layout previously posted.

If you have done Workout # 28 or plan to do Workout #29 at ScrapFIT and linked them up, then you can do this mini workout too and then see if the skies don't shower you with all kinds of wonderful things. Such as rainbows and apple fritters!

Actually I think the sponsor is The Paper Trunk but since I pre-posted this blog back when I was still in the USofA and didn't know that for sure, I can't be absitively posolutely sure! But they will know for sure over at ScrapFIT. Guaranteed.

Go Green!

That's the theme for today's challenge up at ScrapFIT! To recycle something for use on a layout! Some of the packaging our scrap products come in would be great to use!!! AND then we needed to use some of the color green, too!

Here's what I came up with. The photo is from the vintage archives again. It's of our kids when we only had three and they were still very little. And the journaling cardboard? Underneath the title? That's recycled packaging from October Afternoon. Check your stash. I bet you have some too! And with the requisite green letters and paper tape, we have one challenge met!!

The sponsor for today's challenge is The Paper Trunk and you can be sure they rock the give-away's!!! All you have to do for a chance to win some, is do the challenge and link it up over at ScrapFIT!

Absent bloggers are a total bore.

Not! that I'm any less boring when I'm around and blabbing about this thing or that. I get that. But I know what a drag it is to click on a blog page and see the same thing you saw a week ago. And the week before that....

So here's something to look at to distract you from your kids/boss/fellow-bus-riders/whatevers-making-you-need-to-surf-right-now.

It's a layout. I did it for an old challenge at Studio Calico to "scrap little photos". Every single one of these pics (and many more) of a paintball adventure were already printed in 4x6 and I had been struggling to try and fit as many as I could on a layout and still have some paper showing. Wasn't happening. So when my eyes lit on the little contact sheets of photos, I decided to try it this way. At least for now. I will still scrap the big photos but I won't feel the pressure to do them ALLLL. I need to give myself permission to ease up in life more often. Feels ok.

And if you've been scrapping for any length of time, you'll recognize some OLD stash on this page. That also feels good to use up!

Bon Voyage!

My bags are packed.

Well they are in my mind where it really matters.

And tomorrow morning my dear Mr. and I are boarding a plane to Brussels-Of-All-Places! (That's in Belgium for you map-ily challenged folks.) We will also be eating our way through France, Germany and possibly/hopefully also Switzerland and Italy.

And we'll be gone for a month. Leaving at home one 18 yr old boy and another 20 yr old boy. Note the use of "boy". It's not accidental. And all the food except the frozen pizzas with which I have stocked the fridges will still be there a month from now I bet you anything. But the cereal and poptarts will be gone.

Anyway, my point is goodbye. The next month's worth of challenges and posts are in their chambers ready to be fired on the appropriate days. (Not a bad analogy for someone who dislikes guns, eh?) And I hope you all have fun this month at your various scrappy tables wherever they are, while I'm suffering adhesives and patterned paper withdrawal.

Oh yes, I expect there'll be an upside to not scrapping for a month whilst traveling Europe. Chocolate is close to the top of my list.

But before I go, one more for the road... Just an assortment of fun images and memories from our weeks at the cottage this summer.
(Kinda hate the way white cardstock doesn't show up against a white blog background.)

Serious Fun is not an oxymoron.

Ooooh more excitement than one blog can hold!!!

Crop Suey just chose a New Design Team!

That would be to go with the New Owner and the New Look!

And I get to be a New Member of the New Team!!!

I's are being dotted and t's crossed, even as we speak, but you need to get yourself on over there and become a follower so you can be the first to see all the New Fun Projects and Stuff!

Things like challenges, tutorials, recipes, book reviews, and much more coolness. Well actually I'm not too sure about the book reviews but wouldn't that ever be a good idea?! Hey Mia? Can we do book reviews too?

Anyway, the fun is scheduled to begin Nov 1st, but all throughout Oct we'll be getting ourselves introduced and geared up, so you wanna be there!

And just to leave you with some eye candy, here's a layout I did for a challenge at another fun place, Love is in the Details! Lori went and pulled a fast one on us and planned and executed an entire ONLINE CROP herself! That girl has energy to SELL! And GREAT prizes!! You should head over and check them out, you don't have to be a member to enter to win!!

The challenge for this one was just to create a layout with butterflies and stitching. Two of my favorite things! Photos are of my neice this summer at our cottage in Canada, and I'm not sure why they turned out so dark. Somethings must just remain a mystery I guess.

Scrap Workout #27 is up at ScrapFit. And since I've been too busy and too vehicle-less to go to the gym, I'm glad that at least my mojo is getting a workout!

This challenge was to use a wonderful fun sketch from Sassy Little Sketches. It's such a great one, I had to use it twice!! Once back in June and then again just last week!

The Paper Trunk is this month's sponsor, so go check them out, then go make y'seff a layout and link it up at the ScrapFit blog for a chance to win!

Here's the sketch and my most recent layout using that sketch. The June one can be found here.
Sorry for such a slept-with-my-face-mashed-on-a-zipper-ugly scan. I shoulda maybe just taken a photo of the layout. Shoulda, woulda, coulda.
