Jane's Doodles

We have three new Jane's Doodles stamp sets that have just released!

I've made a card (or two) with each set.  The first is a fun one that would be perfect for a child's birthday or other occasion, or a masculine card.  I stamped a grey card panel with Versamark Ink and clear heat embossed it.  Then I stamped the rocket ship and flame onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock and colored them with Kuretake Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers before fussy cutting them out.
Here's where I have a DANDY piece of news for you!!  Jane's Doodles will very soon be carrying coordinating dies for many of it's stamps sets!!  I cannot tell you how excited that makes me!  I don't generally mind fussy cutting but I much prefer die cutting if I have the option!  They should be showing up in the store at the beginning of February!

The next 2 cards use the Stinks stamp set as well as a sentiment from the Pucker Up stamp set.  For the first card, I wanted to mimic the background patterned paper, so I simply stamped on Neenah Solar White cardstock, masking the skunk in order to tuck the tree in behind him.  Then I cut the image out as one, and adhered it to the card front with the white heat-embossed sentiment tucked in behind.

There are two skunks in the set that face each other.  OBviously they're going to end up kissing!   So that's how I stamped them.  I stamped again, on Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock and colored again with Kuretake Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers before fussy cutting once more.  (Yaayyyy about the new dies coming!!)  I die cut some grass from green patterned paper, and some tulips (get it? Two lips?? I had to include them because I got such a kick out of the contrast between skunks and flowers.  Remember that line from Bambi?  When he was learning the names of things and called the skunk a flower?  And the skunk shyly said, "He can call me Flower if he wants to....I don't mind..."  Whew, that was a tangent!) from watercolor paper and colored them, and stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx black ink.  I added some stamped hearts and some acrylic heart stickers and sewed around the edge to finish it.

And lastly a card made with the Pucker Up stamp set!  I had a lot of fun creating this one.  I stamped the lips with three different Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks - Candied Apple, Abandoned Coral and Worn Lipstick.  Some stamps got a single color of ink, and others got a bit of all three.  Then I misted the stamp before laying it down on the watercolor paper.  I let the stamp sit for a few seconds before lifting it up and letting the wet ink flow and blend however it liked.  I think the result is so yummy!

Before I adhered the card panel to the card base, I mixed up some Perfect Pearls gold powder with water to make a thin (although, thinner might have been better) mix that I could splatter onto the dried card panel.  Next, I stamped the sentiment onto plain white cardstock with clear Versamark ink and heat embossed with gold before cutting it out.  I wrapped the card panel several times with gold cord and popped the sentiment up on foam tape for extra dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  And thanks for hopping with us at Jane's Doodles!  As usual, there's a prize to be won!  Just leave a comment on each of the blogs and you'll be entered into a draw for your choice of a free stamp set.  Winner will be announced on Monday.  Also, there is a site-wide 20% off sale running through the weekend.  You've got one more stop to go and you'll have seen all the creativity we've got to show you today!

Have a wonderful day!
